Kamaaina: PCC offering $25 holiday special for Ha: Breath of Life + dinner!

I’m told by my colleague that the Polynesian Cultural Center is currently running a Kamaaina Holiday Special for Ha: Breath of Life for a limited time. Hawaii residents (with a valid ID) can purchase tickets to see Ha for the low price of $25, and until the end of the year dine for free at the PCC’s Gateway Buffet. The coupon is for a seat upgrade to see the show. The total value of this package is $70. Please feel free to share this coupon with your friends, family and followers.

I just went to see the show last weekend with the family and we really enjoyed it. If you get there, let me know what you think too!

Beautiful view of downtown Honolulu from Sand Island State Park

Here's a view of downtown Honolulu I've not seen before in real life. This shot was taken from Sand Island State Park, across Honolulu Harbor, with my iPhone. You can see Aloha Tower on the left. So peaceful and beautiful from this vantage point. Fireworks must look amazing from here on Fourth of July and New Year's Eve.

Chocolate haupia from Yama's is insanely good!

Friends brought over this chocolate haupia from Yama's Fish Market and it's the most sinful dessert I've tasted in a while. Rich, dark chocolate, coconut, deccadent, goodness. Never had this before! My new favorite dessert right now. Oh yeah, the sweet potato haupia pie was good too! ;-) Highly recommend you give this a try!

Hawaii's version of Stairway to Heaven

If you look closely you can see the winding stairs that make its way up the Koolau Mountain's windward side. This trail is known as Stairway to Heaven and last I heard it's closed. I did the hike once with my friend years ago. He said it was 1,000 steps. It turned out being 3,000. One of the most difficult climbs I've done, but the panoramic view of windward Oahu from the top is amazing! This photo was taken on the H3 Freeway.

Tadashi = Best Japanese Restaurant in Aiea IMO!

Just devoured the most delicious odin, tempura, and sushi combo ($17) at Tadashi. There was a fourth sushi that didn't make the photo...cuz it's in my belly! ;-)

We have these kind of aircraft in Hawaii?

Happened to see this streak in the sky this morning on my way into work on Dillingham Boulevard. Reminded me of the mark ledt by those aerial stunt planes you see on the mainland. Do we have those here in Hawaii?
