Another amazing dinner in Miami tonight at the legendary Joe’s Stone Crab on Miami Beach. This restaurant is more than 100 years old and serves up the most awesome stone crabs (only when in season I might add) I’ve ever eaten. It came highly recommended by several people and didn’t disappoint. I understand this is the kind of place you can expect to wait for up to 2.5 hours for a table, but thanks to the wonderful concierge at Doral Golf Resort and Spa, we got seat in just 30 minutes.
So what did we eat? We started off with Oyster on the Half Shell, Fried Calamari, and a couple of the guys had the Manhattan Clam Chowder. Then it was serious business for dinner as we all ordered the Large (5 Claws) Stone Crabs and shared the French Fried Potatoes, Lobster Macaroni & Cheese, and Broccoli.
During the first five minutes of dinner, it was pretty much silent at the table. The Stone Crabs are so sweet and succulent I could eat them every day. They might be the best tasting shellfish I’ve ever eaten (yes, better than King Crab). But that is to be debated.
Bottom line is this place is a classic and a must try for anyone visiting Miami.
In the final photo, that’s me with Barbara, Glenn, Mike, and Seth from PGA Tour Productions. One mean team on and off the course. :-)
